Get on Top of Your Stress and Anxiety!
Master Your Emotional Health and Master Your Life
Posted by cgrimes on Nov 13 2013
Emotional mastery is the key to living a life that you direct. The capacity to have absolute direct power over what you feel in every single moment—no matter what happens around you—is one of the most important skill sets you can have.
There are three forces in the world that determine what you feel. These forces are called the Triad. Together, these three patterns create any—and every—emotional state.
Whatever you feel, you’re not feeling it because you have to feel it. You’re feeling it because you’ve chosen from the Triad. In order to master your emotions and consciously choose the emotions you want to live in, you need to understand these three forces and how to use them to your advantage.
#1: Physiology
Emotion is created by motion. Whatever you’re feeling right now is directly related to how you’re using your body. If you slump your shoulders and lean your head forward, you’ll move toward a state of depression. However, the next time you find yourself in a negative state, stand up, throw your shoulders back and take a few deep breaths. You’ll find that you’re able to put yourself in a resourceful state. From this state, you can make stronger decisions and enjoy a sense of certainty that will keep you calm in the face of uncertainty.#2: Language
Language comes in many forms, one of which includes the questions you ask yourself, either aloud or inside your head. If you ask, “Why does this always have to happen to me?” you’ll create a much different set of emotions than if you asked, “How can I benefit from this?” or “Where’s the gift in this?” or “What’s humorous about this?”The language patterns you run play a significant role in the meaning you give a situation—and the emotion that situation creates in you. When you feel negative emotions taking over, look at the language surrounding your situation. How can you shift it to create a more empowering state?
#3: Focus
Where focus goes, energy flows. And where energy flows, whatever you’re focusing on grows. In other words, your life is controlled by what you focus on. That’s why you need to focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear. When you next find yourself in a state of uncertainty, resist your fear. Shift your focus toward where you want to go and your actions will take you in that direction.Understanding—and influencing—your Triad is the first step toward emotional mastery. When you can influence your emotions using the Triad, you can choose to spend more time in positive, resourceful emotional states. From these states, you’ll make the decisions that will help you reach your highest potential and enjoy your life in every moment.

The Morning Makeover!
The Morning Makover
The difficult thing about mornings for most of us is simply just getting up! Instead of going out for a run, reading, reflecting, meditating or developing ourselves in some capacity, we are lured back to the warmth and coziness of our bed. Yes, the soft mattress is ever so seductive but we really do throw away precious time which we can use to better ourselves. Most of us have a ‘Snooze’ relationship with our alarm clock, where we try and stay in the bed as long as we possibly could before we have to drag ourselves out of the bed to go to the job that we do not love and/or tackle the life that we don’t like etc etc.
As Tony Robbins says ‘You will get a lousy answer, if you ask yourself a lousy question”. Likewise a lousy start to your morning means a lousy day ahead. So really start living consciously now
We recognise that mornings can be really hectic for most of us whether it’s the need to get to work early, or to get your children ready but it is still important to have “your time” first thing in the morning to get ready for the day ahead.
The morning makeover suggestions here are game changing. These suggestions are simple but if implemented will set in motion the experiences throughout the day that will help you create an exceptional life, the life that you have always dreamed of. Here are the three parts of what we refer to as the ’Hour of Power’, a routine to nourish your body, mind and soul. If you do not have time to go through the whole exercise, start with one ritual by giving yourself 10-15 minutes each day and then build on it. Remember that the time for self renewal is absolutely necessary for each one us.
Soul – 15 Minutes
Spend the first few minutes of your day in gratitude. Think about all the things that you are grateful for in your life. It will get rid of the anxiety and fear from your life and prevent you from focussing on the things that are missing in your life. Then spend time meditating and reflecting on the things that you want to achieve in your life. This will engage your subconscious mind to help achieve your goals and mission. This should not take you more than 10-15 minutes, so go ahead and give your soul the nourishment that it needs to help you live the life of your dreams.
Body – 30 Minutes
Your body gets dehydrated while sleeping, so start your morning with a glass of water with lemon and do some form of physical activity like running, strength training or get on the bike if thats your thing. Something like a light 30 minute run at a pace in which you can still talk will help get the oxygen flowing through your body without building too much lactic acid. Following this, go and have your breakfast and ensure it’s something that’s highly nutritious – Go Green and take in as many vegetables as possible and limit the amount of acidic foods you take in i.e. Coffee, Tea. Its all about starting the day with energy and vitality!
Mind – 15 Minutes
Now that you have looked after your body and soul it’s time to feed our mind with positive food. Read about great people, a subject of your interest or anything that will help you grow. There is always someone out there that knows more so read about them and kick start the day with inspiration!
Now the final step is to review your yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily goals that you have already planned – you’ve done them, right
Remember the ideas above are to help you give a great start to your day. You don’t have to be overwhelmed by making all the changes at once, start with a ritual that feels good to you and build on it.
Remember, this is all about having fun and feeling great! So enjoy each of these steps! Life is about the 1 percenters – small steps daily will lead to giant leaps in the long run! Remember every morning you have two choices, you either go back to sleep or wake up and chase your dreams. What are you going to choose?

Born to Fly!!
Born to Fly
You were born with potential
You were born with goodness and trust
You were born with ideals and dreams
You were born with greatness
You were born with wings
You are not meant for crawling so don’t
You have wings…
Learn to use them and fly!

Imagine if you were living your dreams, following your passions and being as great as you can be. Perhaps you already are but if you are not, you really can transform your life! It is fully up to YOU to identify your calling and live a passionate and fulfilling life. Take a look at your life to discover what is driving your life, what areas of your life you are doing great in and where you are crawling. To get you started here are 3 suggestions to help you live BIG and FLY:
1. Become a Life Long Learner
Dedicate yourself to constant learning, improving and growing. Our parents bring us into this world, feed us and we grow automatically. We don’t have to do any work to grow up . We go to school and our teachers help us and push us to learn and grow. This makes us believe that growth is automatic, which is not the case! As soon as we finish school/university, the process of learning and growing stop for most people because there is no one out there to push them to learn. No one out there to push them to grow. Most people don’t read a book after finishing their formal education. Jim Rohn said “Formal education will make you a living. Self education will make you a fortune.” I love this. Don’t just depend on your formal education to live a great life. Commit yourself to personal growth and become a life long learner. Make a commitment to yourself to read for at least 20 minutes a day. Why? Because its your life and you are here to FLY. Here are few ideas to get you started:
– Read for at least 15 minutes everyday.
– Listen to audiobooks, podcasts in your car or during your workout.
– Observe successful people and learn from them.
– Take time to reflect on your own experiences.
– Never miss an opportunity to learn and grow.

2. Take Action
Taking action gives you energy. When you take action and accomplish something your body releases the feel good neurochemicals in your brain that gives you energy and happiness. One of the feel good neurochemicals Dopamine is released whenever you take an action or accomplish what you planned. This is the reason that you feel good when you do the work to achieve something. Have you ever felt motivated or energetic after mindless internet surfing, or watching mindless TV? No, didn’t think so? So don’t wait for the surge of motivation to do the work, instead execute your plan to get the energy and motivation. Most people wait to feel good before they start anything but not you, not anymore. You do the work, you take action to get energy, to feel good and stay motivated.

3. Stop taking life too seriously
Yes, simply lighten up and have fun. Make each day a fun day. Remember to have a good laugh and to put a smile on others faces. It really is that simple.

So there you go, three simple but powerful ways to live big. Remember you are one of a kind, there is no one out there like you. You were born to be GREAT. So be great. You were born with WINGS, so use them to FLY.
Be your best everyday!
